John C. Grech Director

Dr John C Grech studied economics in Malta, Amsterdam and Geneva. He taught economics at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva and at the University of Malta. He currently teaches a course in Economic Diplomacy at the Mediterranean Academy for Diplomatic Studies of the University of Malta. Dr Grech is a prominent economist and has a track record as a corporate leader in both the Public and the Private sector. He held the position of Chairman of the Malta External Trade Corporation, the Malta Tourism Authority and The Bank of Valletta Group. He is currently Vice Chairman of FIMBank, Chairman and Managing Director of EMCS Ltd, Chairman of EMCS International Services Ltd, Chairman of Unipol Insurance Agency Ltd, and sits on the Board of Directors of several companies including Middlesea Insurance plc. Dr Grech is a member of the Euro-Team Network in Brussels, he has been a trainee in the EU Commission Programme for young graduates and has under taken extensive research on EU issues.
