Regulation (EC) No 1198/2006 establishes the European Fisheries Fund (EFF) and defines the framework for Community support for the sustainable development of the fisheries sector, fisheries areas and inland fishing. In accordance with Article 17 Council Regulation (EC) No 1198/2006 Malta was required to draw up an operational programme to implement the policies and priorities to be co-financed by the European Fisheries Fund. The operational programme shall be coherent with Malta’s National Strategic Plan. The operational programme shall cover the period between 1 January 2007 and 31 December 2013.
