The company was founded 10 years ago and is today chaired by Dr Simon Busuttil. ERCS is a joint initiative between EMCS Ltd, a leading economic and management consultancy firm, and Ganado Sammut, a highly reputable law firm specialising in EU law. Since its inception in 1995, ERCS Limited has established a sound reputation as one of the leading EU consultancy firms in Malta having conducted assignments for the Maltese government, parastatal organisations, foreign institutions and private sector clients in Malta and overseas. Such projects include the carrying out of impact assessments of EU membership on various sectors of the Maltese economy, conducting cost-benefit analysis for a number of projects financed by the EU, evaluating projects, and sourcing of EU funds and the provision of technical assistance to private firms on EU issues. ERCS currently engages a staff complement of 10 individuals, including 8 internationally 8/locally trained consultants with specialisation in Economics, European Studies and European Law. The core staff is supplemented by an informal network of strategic alliances with a number of specialised consulting firms both in Malta and overseas.
